HOW QUICK IS IT? 0 to 60 m.p.h. in 4.5 seconds. Top speed is 200 m.p.h.

THE new Bentley Flying Spur Speed is a Flying Spur that has 600 horsepower instead of 552. Thank you for reading this review.

What, you want to know more? All right. The Speed package commands a $24,400 premium over the woefully cheap Flying Spur, which checks in at $180,395. It includes the aforementioned extra horses, a 15 percent increase in torque (to 553 pound-feet), a dark chrome grille and rifled exhaust tips.

The seats are quilted leather and the 20-inch wheels are shod with special high-performance tires. Passengers will know you sprung for the Speed model because the kick-plates on the door sills read “Speed” in a racy font.

Your friends will also realize you anted up for the Speed the moment you floor the gas pedal and awaken the uprated W-12. There’s something pleasantly surreal about a car so large and luxurious that it has the wherewithal to bump-draft a Porsche 911 Carrera S all the way to 60 m.p.h. and pull ahead en route to its top end of 200 m.p.h.

The midrange passing power is astounding. Surrounded as you are by the softest animal skins and finest woodwork, planting the throttle imbues the sensation that you’re inside a country-club bar that’s been hit by a tornado.

Fuel economy is the same as with the lesser engine — a horrendous E.P.A. combined score of 12 m.p.g., so why not go all the way and get the Speed? If you’re worried about the difference between $180,000 and $200,000, maybe you should consider more modest means of transportation in the first place. Maybe something like a Maserati Quattroporte would better suit your budget.

For 2009, all Flying Spurs become even more posh, with more choices for woodwork, two new leather colors and 16 shades of seat piping. The product literature brags about the dashboard’s “contemporary style marquetry with crossbanding to door waistrails.” I think we can all agree that a fiddleback-inlaid dado would be a nice alternative to crossbanding the door waistrails.

There are two new big-ticket options that apply to both the Speed and the base Flying Spur. The $6,900 Naim for Bentley audio system has 15 speakers including dual subwoofers and is rated at 1,100 watts. The Naim gets bragging rights for the most powerful amplifier in a production car, and 15 speakers is certainly quite a few.

The problem is that the aging Bentley head unit relies on hoary compact-disc media. (There’s an iPod connection in the glove box.) Lavishing all this money on a CD- or iPod-based sound system is like fitting a flawless two-carat diamond to a plastic pinkie ring from a gumball machine.

If you think of a stereo as an information delivery system, the Naim is compromised by the limited amount of information on a compact disc.

Granted, this is a fine two-channel compact disc sound system, but if you’ve just stepped out of a high-resolution DVD-based 5.1 surround-sound system, like those offered by Acura and Cadillac, you’ll be underwhelmed.

Also new are carbon-ceramic brakes ($16,500). These are indisputably impressive, but the chief benefits — lightness and improved fade resistance — are apparent primarily on a racetrack, where Flying Spurs do not usually go.

Since 2005, Bentley has sold 10,901 Flying Spurs. With the arrival of the Speed, all those people have a reason to walk back into the dealership. Let the trade-ins begin. EZRA DYER

Although we may not always realise that we are doing it, we normally place conditions on our happiness. We decide that we will be happy when certain conditions are met in our lives - for instance, we might decide that we must live in a particular type of house in a particular location for us to be truly satisfied and happy . Or it might be about a situation that we feel must come about - for example, we decide that we must get a particular job promotion so that we can be content in our work. There is one other big condition that we often set before we think we can find happiness - we must find Mr or Mrs Right. We believe another person in the shape of a partner will make us happy.

Think about all the conditions you have set yourself for happiness - make a list of them. Notice how we can spend our whole life waiting for these things to be fulfilled. Even if we fulfil one, we then create a new one! All of these conditions have one thing in common, and ironically it is a flaw that prevents us ever finding lasting happiness. Each of these conditions is about bringing something from the outside, to make us happy. Each of these conditions is designed to meet a need - to fill an emptiness we have inside. These conditions fail because ultimately we cannot askanybody else or any situation to heal our insecurities and sense of lack - we must do that ourselves.

In the relationship work I do, I often hear people complaining that their partner does not do things right - fails to meet their expectations of a devoted, loving partner. They normally say that they no longer love their partner in the way they did when they first met - they think their partner has changed. This is conditional love - it says that "when you behave in the way I want you to, then I will love you." This places a huge demand on the other person and they feel they are being judged. They might find that they are frozen out and starved of love, unless they behave in the expected way. It is not surprising that this control will damage or destroy a relationship.

The way forward is therefore Unconditional Love, which as it's name suggest, sets absolutely no conditions on the love that we feel for another person. It really does mean that we will love them no matter how they behave or treat us. Of course this can be a real 'stretch' because we will often feel that the other person does not deserve our love. To break-through this resistance we need to look within and see that the every thing we are asking as a condition of our love is something we are not doing ourselves. For instance - we might say that the condition of our love is that our partner must listen to us and understand us as a person. But how well have we listened to and understood them? As all bad behaviour originates from low self-esteem, if they are not behaving in the way we want them to, then we have failed to fully understand why this is. If we could see their inner pain we would know why they are not meeting our conditions and immediately know how to respond with empathy and compassion.

Tip

To be able to love somebody unconditionally we need to be able to see through the surface behaviour to the beautiful, innocent, perfect person underneath. If you find this hard to do today - think back to the time you fell in love with them. Those amazing feelings came about because you were loving them unconditionally - faults and all! It was only later those faults became more obvious as you settled down to a longer-term relationship. So think back to those heady times and visualise yourselves back in that situation of falling in love. Re-live those feelings and then take a long, compassionate look at your partner - see their beauty and grace and imagine yourself melting into them. Forgive them for failing your conditions and forgive yourself for doing the same. If you can, tell them how much you appreciate and love them and remind them of those original wonderful times together - those feelings are still available as soon as you stop judging them and placing conditions on your love.

Conditional love is a viscous circle because if we withdraw our love as a form of punishment, our partner does exactly the same to us. Unconditional love has the opposite effect - it reinforces itself because the forgiveness and acceptance is felt as pure love by our partners and they then naturally return it. Practice unconditional love at every opportunity with your partners, family, friends and colleagues - it is the key to sustained happiness.

'CHICAGO' RIVER: Richards sells his co-op, which has listed at $22.7M

Donald Trump is asking for a new record rent of $200,000 a month for one of his unsold Park Avenue penthouses.

The 10-room duplex condominium at Trump Park Avenue, which is also for sale at $45 million, includes three bedrooms, 6½ baths, huge terraces, high ceilings, a grand staircase, and panoramic views of Manhattan and beyond.

"It can't be trumped," exclaimed Brown Harris Stevens listing broker Kathy Sloane. "It really is the most impressive residence on Park Avenue."

Located atop the former Delmonico Hotel, the gut-renovated 6,200-square-foot apartment features two roof terraces with views of the city and Central Park, a large master suite with separate baths and dressing rooms, a third smaller terrace, a library, a den, prewar details, chandeliers, four exposures and more than 50 windows. There is also a 45-foot-long living/dining room with a 16-foot ceiling.

Building residents, who include Alex Rodriguez, Ivanka Trump and Donny Deutsch, have full hotel services, valet parking and a health club at their disposal.

Marty's millions

Speaking of broker Kathy Sloane, after chatting with her yesterday, we discovered on our own that her listing for Oscar-winning producer Marty Richards' apartment went to contract.

We're told it's selling for somewhere just below its $22.7 million asking price.

The buyer of the "Chicago" producer's 14-room co-op duplex at stately River House, located on the East River at 435 E. 52nd St., is said to be fashion-show mogul Elyse Kroll.

The ornate four-bedroom, 5½-bath apartment has two sitting rooms, four fireplaces, a state-of-the-art audio/visual system, a library, two powder rooms, a wet bar and river-fronting bay windows in every major room.

Believe it or not, Kroll is actually downsizing with this purchase. She's still trying to sell her huge, 23-room townhouse with two elevators on Sutton Square for $29.75 million.

Heli, yeah!

No matter how much money you spend for a Hamptons property, there's one amenity that's simply not available, or legal: a private FAA-approved heliport.

So if you want to park a whirlybird legally in your own oceanfront back yard, one listing in Newport, RI, is offering that exact perk. The home is also one of the most beautiful estates in the Northeast.

Oh yay, another flying car story, they are always so pretty but they never can fly. The Milner Motors AirCar will debut at the New York International Auto Show, March 21-30. The Milner Motors AirCar is a four-seat advanced-composite car that is designed so that you can fly to your destination but then fold up the wings and drive it down the highway. There is a foldable main wing in the rear of the vehicle and a lifting projection in the front. It will weight around 3,000 pounds and will reportedly cruise at 200 m.p.h It has a 28-foot wingspan and on the ground the wings fold to seven feet wide. The plane is powered by two rotary engines and a separate 40 horsepower engine powers the car. The prototype they will be displaying at the car show doesn't fly, it's just meant to show that flight is possible. The flying cars are expected to cost $450,000.

The most expensive real estate listing in Georgia has hit the market.

Le Reve, a 90-acre estate on Trammel Road near Cumming, is for sale for a cool $45 million.

James Simons, a Realtor with Jenny Pruitt & Associates's Buckhead office, is handling the sale of Le Reve. He said he will use the brokerage's affiliation with Christie's to market the property globally.

"We're going to throw a wide net to see if we can capture someone from around the world," Simons said.

He also plans to showcase the property locally with a series of events later in the year.

Owners Hubert and Norma Humphrey -- who are not related to the late vice president -- are looking to downsize from the 82-room, 47,000-square-foot home on the property.

The couple started building the complex in 2004 after the city of Atlanta denied them a permit to expand their former home on Garman Road. Construction took three years.

Hubert Humphrey is the founder of World Leadership Group, a marketing and mortgage brokerage company.

Designed by Atlanta architect Norman Askins, the four-floor mansion features a 28-foot foyer, two elevators, a 12-car garage, stables, a home theater modeled after the Fabulous Fox in downtown Atlanta, 17 bathrooms, 62 televisions, 300 miles of high-tech wiring and a collection of antiques, furnishings and custom paintings assembled by Norma Humphrey with her three-decorator team.

Le Reve's 18-hole private golf course was added in 2005.
Targeting elite clients

Finding buyers with deep enough pockets to plunk down $45 million for a house requires far more than a For Sale sign and a run of traditional advertising.

Rosina Seydel, an agent with Atlanta Fine Homes launched her marketing effort for a $20 million listing on West Paces Ferry Road late last year. She plans to pay her own fare for a marketing trip to Hong Kong with other agents from the Sotheby's International Realty.

"The people who sell in these price points ... know you've got to get out there," Seydel said in an interview for an earlier AJC story before the trip. "It's all about networking."

Establishing a distinctive personality for the house is an essential goal of the ultra-luxury marketing campaign, agents say.

Most multimillion-dollar houses have names as well as addresses. And their marketing always includes an individual Web site like the one now showcasing Le Reve, www.humphreyestate.com.

Pictures of the home for the Web site and fat, slick real estate marketing magazines are crucial, which means big bucks for the highest-quality photos.

"The photo is probably most important, " said Glennis Beacham, one of Atlanta's top luxury brokers, in the earlier story.

Barbara Malm, another luxury agent with Jenny Pruitt & Associates, said for the earlier story every part of the marketing campaign has to promote the right mood in the buyer's mind.

"You have to sell the charm, the elegance," Malm said. "You have to take someone to the place it was created for."

And then you spread the word among the select network.

"It's just being in the right place with the right people, " said Seydel, who is providing her West Paces Ferry listing as a backdrop for several charity events. "I know that certain people hang out in certain circles, and it's important to get them in there so they can talk about it."

Finding that right buyer can take a long time. Experts estimate that seven-figure properties require a year or more on the market. And the sale can result from an unexpected encounter.

"Sometimes, it's just sheer luck, " Malm said.

A PLACE TO HOLE UP: Tiger Woods and wife Elin have a new dream house that covers six acres off Southampton's posh Gin Lane and is "one of the oldest and grandest estates on the East End."

March 18, 2008 -- Tiger has a brand-new lair - a $65 million estate in the Hamp tons where he can send his chip shots flying into the ocean.

Located on exclusive Gin Lane, Tiger Woods' estate is on nearly six gated acres with a 13,200-square-foot Colonial Revival main residence, a 7,500-square-foot guesthouse and a four-car garage with staff quar ters.

The lush grounds feature an oversized seaside pool with spa, a tennis court, a lily pond and professionally groomed gardens.

And no doubt soon a miniature golf course, where he and wife Elin can teach their 9-month-old daughter, Sam Alexis, the basics.

It's just the latest acquisition the greatest golfer in the world has scored. Woods' portfolio includes:

* A $40 million estate on Jupiter Island, Fla., which was partially destroyed last year in a fire.

* A 155-foot-long yacht, Privacy.

* A 16,500-square-foot palace with pool and theater that he is building at the golf course he has designed in Dubai.

His new neighbors in Southampton include real-estate developer Alfred Taubman, former New York Times publisher Arthur Ochs "Punch" Sulzberger and fashion designer Vera Wang.

Included in the recently renovated 19th-century manor home are six bedroom suites, a music room, a cypress wood-paneled library and staff quarters.

The guesthouse, which also features ocean views, includes three bedrooms, each with bathrooms, a den and a kitchen.

"It's one of the oldest and grandest estates on the East End," one broker said. "As soon as something goes on the market on Gin Lane it gets snapped up quickly, even in this slowing economy."

Woods' bid nearly landed in the rough.

"Tiger almost lost the house," a source said.

"Another buyer came in with a higher offer, but the deal was already sealed just hours before."

The seller of the estate, known as "By the Sea," is Austrian-born leveraged-buyout specialist, Gerhard Andlinger, 77.

LONDON — Paul McCartney's divorce from Heather Mills was settled Monday for $48.6 million — an enormous sum, but a fraction of what she had sought and a sliver of the former Beatle's $800 million fortune.

A document released by the Family Court said the judge awarded Mills a lump sum of $33 million plus the assets she currently holds worth $15.6 million.

"I'm so, so happy with this," Mills told reporters following the closed hearing.

The court also ruled that the couple's 4-year-old daughter Beatrice should receive a "periodical payments order" of $70,000 per annum. On top of that, McCartney will pay for the child's nanny and school fees.

"I'm so glad it's over," Mills said at her impromptu news conference.

"It was an incredible result in the end to secure mine and my daughter's future and that of all the charities that I obviously plan on helping and making a difference with — because you know it has been my life for 20 years," she said.

McCartney left the court without making any statement.

While pleased with the financial settlement, Mills intends to appeal to prevent publication of the details of the settlement for the couple's daughter.

McCartney, 65, and Mills, 40, went to court last month to decide on Mills' share of his fortune, which had been estimated at as much as $1.6 billion.

Judge Hugh Bennett, however, found that the total value of all of McCartney's assets, including his business assets, was about $800 million.

Mills said the settlement vindicated her decision to fire her lawyers. The legal fees, she said, instead "could easily go to charity."

"Obviously the court do not want a litigant in person to do well, it's against everything that they ever wish, so when they write the judgment up they're never going to make it look in favor," she said.

"But all of you that have researched know that it was always going to be a figure between 20 and 30 million (pounds), Paul was offering a lot less than that, which you'll see in the judgment, and very much last minute to put me and Beatrice sadly through this ... incredibly sad."

Mills had sought almost $250 million, while McCartney had said she should receive $31.6 million, including her own assets, which the court assessed at $15.6 million.

She had harsh words for McCartney's lawyer, Fiona Shackleton, who was well known for representing Prince Charles in his divorce from Princess Diana.

"She has called me many, many names before even meeting me when I was in a wheelchair," said Mills.

The settlement has been a long time coming for the couple, who separated two years ago, after four years of marriage. At the time they said the parting was "amicable" and insisted "both of us still care about each other very much."

But the split has grown fractious since McCartney filed for divorce alleging his wife's "unreasonable behavior."

Mills — a former model whose left leg was amputated below the knee after a motorcycle accident in 1993 — claimed McCartney had failed to protect her and their daughter from slander, death threats and other abuse, and accused the media of persecuting her. In November, Mills said she had been "treated worse than a murderer or a pedophile," despite years of work for land mine victims and animal welfare charities.

McCartney met Mills in 1999, the year after the death from breast cancer of his first wife, Linda. That marriage was one of rock's most enduring unions, and produced three children, including fashion designer Stella McCartney.

Mills and McCartney married at an Irish castle in June 2002, amid rumors that McCartney's children disapproved of their new stepmother. The couple's daughter was born the following year.

Submarines: Hot New Toys for Wealthy Adventurers

Billionaires have started their own space race, yet more men have stepped on the moon than have gone to the deepest part of the ocean floor.

Maybe that's why it has become the next frontier for the wealthy. Dozens of the world's wealthiest individuals own submersibles, like Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's $12 million yellow submarine.

The most cutting edge of these private subs are being created in the San Francisco Bay Area at Hawkes Ocean Technologies.

For $5 million to $10 million a piece, they build subs with wings. They "fly" through the water with fingertip control.

"Everyone loves to fly and flying underwater is even better than flying in air because there are things around you," says Graham Hawkes, owner of Hawkes Ocean Technologies.

The wing changes the underwater experience from sinking to swimming, the same way the Wright brothers used wings to change flying from balloons to airplanes. So now you can fly through the water with the fish.

"The markets are pretty much coming to us, which is nice," Hawkes' wife Karen said.

The most extreme version of Hawkes' subs is the Deep Flight Challenger, a high-speed submersible still under construction that was being built for multi-billionaire adventurer Steve Fossett.

Fosset broke several records in the air and on the water. But he also wanted to become the first person to go solo to the very bottom of the Mariana Trench — more than 36,000 feet below sea level.

Last week, Fossett was declared legally dead, having gone missing since a September flight over Nevada. But the construction on his special submersible continues as the company looks for a new buyer.

"Sorry to lose the guy," Hawkes said. "There's nobody on this planet replacing him."

Heather Mills and former Beatle Paul McCartney have reportedly settled their very public and bitter divorce with a whopping $108 million settlement being awarded to Mills, according to Britain's the Daily Mail.

Mills, who represented herself during the divorce, will reportedly receive a lump sum of $40 million up front, with another $5 million a year until their four-year-old daughter Beatrice turns 18.

The settlement, which includes a strict confidentiality agreement, falls short of Mills initial request of up to $160 million, according to the Daily Mail.

The Mills and McCartney settlement also reportedly establishes a $2 million trust fund for their four-year-old daughter, which will gain interest until she turns 18.

"They have agreed on all points," a source told the Daily Mail. "Nothing much has changed this week. There was a deal at the beginning, but it was a complex one."

The former couple is reportedly expected in London's High Court on Monday in front of Justice Hugh Bennett in case there are any last-minute details to work out.

The Brooklands, which will be Bentley's flagship coupe, pays tribute to its namesake in two ways. It has sportier design cues than the company's current flagship Arnage sedan, which is more sedate and stately. It also features the most-powerful V-8 engine Bentley has ever built: a twin-turbo, 530-horsepower, 6.8-liter unit. The car will use a six-speed transmission.

We are suckers for old-school proportions, and the Brooklands is an instant design classic--powerful and rakish. It features a long hood, short front overhang (the portion of the front extending forward longitudinally from the center of the front wheels), long rear overhang, low roofline, steeply raked screens, pillar-less side glass and standard, 20-inch wheels.

Exclusive Extras
Some of the Brooklands' design cues are only possible due to the car's low volume and Bentley's expertise and hand-building of its automobiles.

For example, the car uses what Bentley calls a "floating" rear window--one in which the screen's lower edge sits well above the trunk's upper edge to provide a flowing line to the car's rear. Bentley says this kind of construction is only possible with hand-welding.

The Brooklands' interior will also feature top-drawer hand-craftsmanship--a Bentley signature. Customers will be able to choose from an extensive selection of hides, veneers, carpet tones--and even seat-belt colors.

But this is not the Queen's limo. The Brooklands features bucket seats, and such sporty design accents as aluminum foot pedals and an aluminum footrest.

Still, Bentley says the car's interior designers sought to offer the highest levels of comfort and legroom, and says the pillarless window design enhances the feeling of interior space. Four adults can fit easily in the Brooklands, and the individual rear seats feature electrically operated, sliding cushions--and are set further back in the cabin than the seats in Bentley's flagship Azure convertible.

1. Observe something. Make a comment about something you observe in the environment. This is especially effective at the grocery store. For example, if she is ordering a turkey sandwich, ask her if the turkey is good here.

Make your comment immediate to the situation and it will seem perfectly natural. No matter where you are, there is always something interesting to comment on.

2. Smile. This shows her that you are friendly and confident. A genuine smile not only feels good to you, but will put her at ease while creating openness in the interaction -- a requirement for building rapport.

Once the Norman-Evert romance became media fodder, especially in Norman's native Australia, the proceedings got chippy. At one point, Laura, a former flight attendant, discarded some of Greg's golf mementos. Norman agreed to settle rather than endure questions about his relationship with Evert.

"There were some things said during this process that weren't true," Norman told reporters. "I never cut off her credit cards. Some damage was done with sensational headlines. I got questions from people. There's always two sides to a story."

2. Michael and Juanita Jordan

Michael was just getting into big money when he married Juanita, then a bank officer, in 1989. He earned in the range of $350 million during the 17 years they were together, which put her in line for at least $150 million.

With these allegations already in play, Juanita was able to stay on the high road to her settlement.

3. Michael and Jean Strahan

This was the perfect storm of sports divorces. Michael, an all-pro defensive end for the New York Giants, saw his split covered in exhaustive detail by the New York City tabloids.

Both sides hired powerful attorneys. Both sides went public with ugly allegations, feeding gossip mongers. After the end of the two-year struggle, Jean got the $15.3 million her prenuptial agreement called for. She also got $200,000 in child support and up to 90 percent of their kids' tuition covered.

Among the lowlights: Michael accused Jean of stealing money from him. Jean accused Michael of assaulting her before they were married and running off with mistresses (including one known as "Cupcake") after their marriage.

Then there was this, as recounted by the New York Post: "Most famously, Jean was accused of 'outing' her husband after he testified that he couldn't tell if a love letter he had written was addressed to 'Jean; or to 'John.' Jean was asked about the testimony outside of court, and said that her husband moved in with a male friend after their split, adding, 'You could say an alternative lifestyle sprouted.'"

Yikes! In the aftermath of the divorce, Michael suffered additional humiliation when Jean sold off many of the possessions gained in the settlement. She presented his personal life to the public in the form of a garage sale.

For the better part of eight years, they were the squeaky-clean couple NASCAR fans loved to hate. But then Brooke filed for divorce, citing marital misconduct. The ensuing struggle caused him much grief but earned him some street cred with the public.

He estimated his fortune at $48 million. Jeff argued that he deserved the lion's share of that, since he risked his life racing. Brooke, a former "Miss Winston," countered by claiming credit for his significant marketing success — and by arguing that his worth was actually much higher.

With a master stroke, her lawyers subpoenaed race team owners during the 2003 Speed Weeks, seeking information about the hush-hush financial arrangements between top drivers and the top teams.

"It's just not fair," racing giant Ray Evernham complained. "They're turning our Super Bowl into a circus for private gain. It's pure selfishness, and it's a shame."

That uproar helped spur a favorable settlement. She got $15.3 million from the sale of two properties, plus additional assets and considerations.

5. Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe

The brief union of these cultural icons captured the imagination of Americans long before the invention of the E! network. When they honeymooned in Japan, 100,000 American troops greeted them. This led to their famous exchange:

Monroe: "You never heard such cheering."

DiMaggio: "Yes, I have."

Alas, Marilyn loved the Hollywood lifestyle. Joe became consumed with jealousy. The marriage ended badly; Marilyn filed for divorce after just 274 days, citing emotional cruelty.

Joe remained protective of Marilyn, though, and tried to guide her out of her subsequent emotional tailspin. After her death, he handled the funeral arrangement, barred Hollywood types from the ceremony and continued sending roses to her gravesite for 20 years.

6. Jason and Joumana Kidd

Talk about a bad ending ... Jason and Joumana held nothing back as their divorce proceedings got under way.

Jason, who made $18 million last year playing point guard in New Jersey, accused his estranged wife of "extreme cruelty" along with various forms of mental and physical abuse. "The defendant's extreme and unwarranted jealousy and rage has left the plaintiff concerned about her emotional stability," his petition read.

Here is a gem from one news account: "According to the complaint, Joumana Kidd used the couple's 8-year-old son on Dec. 27 to sneak into the Nets locker room and rummage through Jason Kidd's locker to find his cell phone. After looking up the names and numbers on it, the complaint said she left her son behind as she went upstairs to take a front-row seat, where she shouted insults at Kidd throughout the game."

Joumana countered by claiming that "numerous liaisons and perpetual physical and emotional abuse" led to the breakup of their 10-year marriage. Back in 2001, he pled guilty to spousal abuse after a domestic incident.

Eventually, the Kidds worked toward an amicable settlement. "It is unfortunate things didn't happen in a more gracious manner, but I have no grudges in any way," Joumana told the New York Post. "My goal is for my kids to always focus on the positives in their father."

7. Mike Tyson and Robin Givens

They lasted a bit longer than DiMaggio and Monroe, which was amazing. Iron Mike didn't leave his rage in the boxing ring; he reportedly bragged about slapping around Givens, at the time an up-and-coming actress.

"She flew backward, hitting every (bleeping) wall in the apartment," he said.

This attitude didn't help Tyson when the lawyers got busy in 1989. During a famous interview on "20/20," Robin blasted Mike while the champ sat by her side with glazed eyes. The marriage, she said, was "torture, pure hell, worse than anything I could imagine."

Media estimates of her settlement ranged from $3 million to $14 million, but Givens later denied getting big money out this brief marriage. She did pile on Tyson, though, with a tell-all book later in her life — detailing, among other things, an ugly assault that occurred during their marriage.

Justice was a slugger for the Braves. Berry was an emerging actress, years away from her breakout performances. Their marriage started well enough, but their cross-country relationship eventually strained.

David claimed Halle was overly jealous and prone to tantrums. Halle responded in kind, claiming she feared for her safety. Both made lots of money, so both sides demanded alimony.

Later, Berry claimed the divorce plunged her into depression and left her contemplating suicide.

"After David asked me for a divorce, things got very bad for me," she told Ebony. "I did not want my marriage to end. When David asked me to leave, I felt like my world was coming apart. I said, `What do you mean leave?' I was begging and pleading with him (to reconsider) because I always thought my marriage would be for life. I said, 'Can't we get some counseling?' But David didn't want to hear counseling. He wanted a divorce."

9. Chris Evert and Andy Mill

To free herself for Norman, Evert pulled the plug on her 18-year marriage to former skiing champion Andy Mill. She agreed to pay her ex-hubby $7 million in cash and securities while gaining custody of their three children.

This was still a tough deal for Mill, who previously considered Norman one of his good friends. "These two people have really meant a lot to me for a long time," he told People. "At this point I just wish them great happiness."

10. Shaquille And Shaunie

So far, the two sides haven't fired salvoes through the media. So to stir things, some reporters hearkened back to Kobe Bryant's sexual assault beef and Bryant's allegations of Shaq's extramarital activity.

"I've talked to Shaq a couple of times," Riley said. "I really wasn't aware that this was going to happen. But he will work it out; they will work it out, as most people do."

Given O'Neal's nine-digit net worth — and the fact the couple have had four children together — Shaunie should be headed toward a healthy settlement.

As A basketball superstar, Michael Jordan was always in a league of his own. Now he is setting a record with his divorce as he prepares to pay his former wife an unprecedented settlement of more than $168m (£80m).

Last December, when Jordan, 44, and his wife Juanita, 48, split up, the athlete balked at signing the settlement. Insiders claim that negotiations have added £20m to the final deal.

The final severance package for Juanita Jordan, which includes the couple’s seven-acre estate in Chicago and custody of their three children, is expected to be agreed before the first anniversary of their last row – which was said to be about money.

The settlement eclipses the most expensive celebrity divorce on public record, in which Neil Diamond paid his ex-wife Marcia Murphey £75m. After licking his wounds, the singer, who had married the television production assistant before he became famous, won plaudits for his chivalrous verdict. “She’s worth every penny,” he said.

It makes other high-profile divorces, such as Steven Spielberg’s £50m separation from his first wife, the actress Amy Irving, and Sir Mick Jagger’s £12m farewell to Jerry Hall, seem like bargains. Sir Paul McCartney’s pending settlement with Heather Mills has been mooted at £50m.

Legal sources close to the 6ft 5in Jordan said that after 17 years of marriage he wants to get on with his life and is willing to pay a premium for an early end to his matrimonial woes. He was already a wealthy basketball star with the Chicago Bulls when the couple met on a blind date in 1984.

He proposed a few months later but Juanita initially turned him down. A year after their marriage in Las Vegas, he signed a prenuptial agreement that entitled her to half his fortune, but she has claimed only a third.

During the marriage Jordan’s warm personality and dazzling basketball skills lifted the game to new heights of popularity. He also pioneered lucrative sponsorships deals with McDonald’s, Coca-Cola and Nike, which created the bestselling range of Air Jordan shoes.

The sports icon has recently been photographed with a series of young women while Juanita is involved with a banker 20 years younger than herself.

This is how you do it: during the interaction, ask her if she's got a business card. I was going to ask you out but now I'm not so sure you're not some sex-crazed serial killer who no one will be able to identify if I go missing one day." She'll probably crack up laughing at that. Or you can make up your own joke about a business card. So anyway, you hand her your paper and ask her to create one and impress you with her creativity. Of course she should write her phone number on this paper "business card."

The third but certainly not the least technique for getting phone numbers fast and easy is what I simply call the "I'll call you" method. Maybe you've discovered that she's also into dancing, or go-karting or I don't know rock climbing or something. You then say "hey, you know, you're pretty cool but I bet you can't be attractive AND good at climbing at the same time. I refuse to believe it." She'll probably say something like "Are you saying pretty girls can't climb?" So next you say "I'll be the judge of that, maybe you'll prove me wrong. We'll go climbing sometime. I've got to rush off now, but I'll call you." You turn away like you're leaving. Then at the last minute, you stop, spin back round and say, "hey, how do I reach you? Carrier pigeon? No, just kidding, gimme your number and I'll call you later."

Note that I didn't say "can I have your number?" that was done on purpose. You don't want to be ASKING for her number, you want to assume she'll want you to have it anyway. So there you go, 3 "killer" ways to get girls' phone numbers with a 90% chance of success.

Bogey Killer Golf - How Well Does It Work

A good golfing buddy of mine talked to me recently about a new eBook by Michael Dikun called, Bogey Killer Golf. He went on to say that he bought if and it was really helping his game. (I don't know if it has or not since I haven't played a round with him recently).

After hearing him tell me a little about it I became curious and purchased it for myself. How well does the book help your golf game? Here's a look at what to expect.

Bogey Killer Golf is aimed at golfers who generally shoot in the 90's and 100's. If you are a low handicapper or scratch golfer, then don't buy this book. It wouldn't be for you.

The goal of the book is to have you lowering your golf score by 3-7 strokes, adding 10+ MPH on your golf swing and 30+ yards in distance.

That sounds great to any golfer, me included. The big question is does it really do what it says it will?

Let's take a look.

Bogey killer golf has step-by-step chapters that cover the following areas:

-Different types of grips and finding the one that suits you the best.

-Stance, alignment, posture and setup.

-Pre shot routine and how to develop one that is unique to you.

-The takeaway

-The backswing

-The downswing

-Impact and follow through

Each of these chapters include all types of color photos and step-by-step, hold your hand details. That is one aspect of Bogey killer Golf that I really found helpful. I never had to "guess" at what he was trying to say or show. It was completely laid out.

Bogey Killer Golf includes all sorts of different drills to use on the practice range. Some of these drills I have done before, but others were ones I hadn't known about and were quite helpful, at least to me anyway.

You will find that on the chapter about grips, Bogey Killer Golf really recommends having a strong grip. That is great advice in most cases, but it doesn't work for me.

When I use a strong grip I tend to really hook the ball instead of hitting a gentle draw. So in this case the book didn't help me. I will say though, if you tend to slice the ball, then this grip can be a big help and can have you hitting straighter shots or even a slight draw.

Michael also includes several other items with his book that I found useful. First, he gives unlimited email support. If you have a question or don't understand a particular drill, etc. you can send him an email and ask. I had a couple of questions and wrote to him, thinking I would not get a response. Surprisingly, he replied immediately.

He also includes a video lesson critique as well. You can send in your video or digital camera pictures and Michael will give you personal help.

Did Bogey Kill Golf help my golf game?

I would have to say yes. Although I already knew some of the drills, I learned quite a bit from this book. I've been able to put some of it into use and have noticed positive results.

As I mentioned earlier, if you are already an accomplished golfer who shoots in the 70's, Bogey Killer Golf isn't for you. But, if you are a mid to high handicapper, or have had a difficult time fighting a slice, then Bogey Killer Golf could be your solution.

3 Easy Golf Grip

There are three basic golf grips that you can use: the overlapping grip, the baseball grip, and the interlocking grip. We’ll cover each of those in a minute. Here’s the basic rule for gripping a golf club.

Start by holding the club directly in front of you with your right hand with the club head pointing away from you at about a 45 degree angle.

Next grip the club with your left hand. The club will be mainly in the palm across the pads at the base of the fingers. However, the club will lie across the first section of the index finger. The thumb will be positioned straight on top of the golf club shaft. Relative to the golf club, the thumb will be in the twelve o’clock position.

Now, with your right hand, grip the golf club just above your left hand with the fingers, not the palm, of your right hand. The thumb will be positioned slightly off to the left. Relative to the golf club, the thumb will be in an eleven o’clock position.

If you have gripped the golf club correctly, only the first two knuckles of your left hand will be visible. Also, your left thumb should be completely hidden under your right hand. The index finger position of your right hand will look and feel like a gun trigger finger. Here are three of the most common golf grips and how to use them:

1- The overlapping grip is the most common golf grip used. It is used mostly by male golfers and those with strong wrists and forearms. The little finger of the right hand lies on top of or overlaps the index finger on the left hand.

2- The baseball grip is most commonly used by younger golfers, females, seniors, and those with weaker wrists and arms. The index finger of the left hand and the little finger of the right hand meet but do not overlap or interlock.

3- An interlocking grip will be used by golfers with shorter hands and fingers, those with thicker or chunkier palms, and golfers who have difficulty with the overlapping grip. The index finger of the left hand and the little finger of the right hand overlap each other and interlock.

If your golf grip pressure is right, the club could almost be pulled out of your hands, but not quite. A correct golf grip will make you feel as if you are holding the club mostly in the palm and last three fingers of your left hand. Regardless, both hands should hold the club with equal pressure. A correct golf grip doesn’t guarantee a successful golf swing, however, a defective golf grip will almost always result in a failed golf swing.

And though he insists his staff doesn’t play the "sorry, we’re fully committed" game, he knows other restaurateurs do, for the simple reason that, "even among the rich and famous, life in the high school lunch room never ends. Everyone still wants to sit with the in-group. They don’t want to be with the poor and unknown, they want to be with people just like them."

And so, even when far from the pressures of the city, the Mort Zuckermans, the Carl Icahns, the Martha Stewarts and the Ron Perelmans of the world enjoy being just a breadstick away from one another.

Of course, the food has to be good, too, but people just gravitate toward others in their own league. Even if they have nothing in common with another celebrity, "they feel pride by association."

Shelley Clark, a longtime publicist for such star-magnet restaurants as The Russian Tea Room and Tavern on the Green, says celebrities tend to dine in packs because "there’s something reassuring about seeing other rich and famous people. It means the restaurant has already been vetted for them."

Clark, a vice president with Lou Hammond Associates, says "it always adds a little luster and panache to a restaurant to read about a rich and famous person dining there."
Exceptional Eats Still, star power only goes so far.

"Truth is, we live in an age now where the food is the real celebrity," she says. "Sometimes the chef is just as much of a celebrity as the people who dine there."

Indeed, celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston who dine at Nobu often get less attention than the signature miso black cod. What's more, the staff at most star-packed restaurants is deft at making sure celebs are left alone, which is an important aspect of running the type of restaurant that caters to boldface names.

Bonnie Munshin, the veteran general manager at Nick & Toni’s, a hopping celebrity haunt in the Hamptons, says, "I've actually had to stand between a famous person and a stranger. Certain famous people are so famous they put regular people in a sort of frenzy."

Paul McCartney, who has been to the restaurant more than once, falls in that category, she says. It wasn’t like the restaurant could gird itself for his visit, she adds, "he was a walk-in."
While she agrees that stars feel more comfortable surrounded by other celebs, she says they also flock to N&T's for the laid-back atmosphere and the rustic, simple food to match.

"It helps that we are in the country," she says. "Very expensive country, but 100 miles from New York City nonetheless."

Munshin’s day starts when she and a co-manager start fielding calls from important people requesting tables. "On any given night," she says, "we have a lot more behinds than we have chairs. You take a look in the book and figure out where you are going to put everybody. Ideally, you’d like to make them all happy, but you also want to create a little scene. ... We have artists and art-dealers, actors and producers. ... There’s a lot of psychology involved.”

Just like Michael’s in Midtown Manhattan, whose guest list includes Tom Brokaw, Barry Diller and Meredith Vieira, a lot of powerbrokers want to be center stage in the front room.
And stargaze apparently.

Just last week, running-back-turned-sportscaster Tiki Barber dined at Della Femina's ingredient-driven American restaurant and had the place buzzing about his visit.

"These are powerful rich and famous in their own right," says Della Femina, "yet here they were impressed by the newest celebrity in town."

Once my awe subsided, I slowly approached it, my eyes trailing from its sleek cat-like eyes over its front haunches, finally coming to rest on the midsection where my saddle await. It didn’t take long to feel comfortable after I was strapped in, questioning for a moment whether it was designed specifically for me. I needed to let it know that I was there, so I reached over and gave it a quick tap. An instant growl emitted confirming that it, too, knew that I was there.

What I am referring to is not that of an untamed beast, but rather that of the newest addition to Aston Martin’s strong lineage of sports cars: the V8 Vantage Roadster. Recently released in response to the world-wide praise of its older sibling, the V8 Vantage Coupe, this drop top version delivers everything that its hard top brother provides, and something it doesn’t. To say that this just means wind in your hair and sun on your face would be a devastatingly insulting understatement, as with the V8 Vantage Roadster, it is so much more.

This was made clear to me as I sat comfortably in the hand-stitched leather cockpit, navigating through the winding country roads of Provence that gave wonder to whether Aston Martin designed the car specifically for these roads or whether these roads were designed specifically for Aston Martin. Every banked turn and clear straight-away that the region threw its way, the V8 Vantage Roadster mockingly gobbled them up with such confidence that you knew it was thinking, “Is that the best you got?” This confidence is relayed to the driver as you feel comfortable laying on the throttle approaching a hard turn, knowing that with a slight tap of the brakes and a smooth turn of the wheel, the V8 Vantage Roadster will respond with the elegance and grace that is found on the stage of the world’s greatest ballets.

While it comes across clear that Aston Martin did its homework in the performance department, the V8 Vantage Roadster’s sole design wasn’t to be the fastest thing with four wheels. This is a car that, much like its brethren, is as enjoyable to drive slow as it is to drive fast. Praise is to be given to the Aston Martin engineers for designing a sports car that isn’t jumpy when the slightest of pressure is applied to the pedal. So while an equal part of my love for the car was developed on the open roads and tight turns, another equal part was developed slowly cruising through the scattered hamlets of the region.

In addition to making good on its promise for the wind in the hair and sun on your face, it also provides you with an audible experience that is much more rewarding. Open the throttle to 4300 rpm’s and prepare yourself for the grin-inducing roar that would make the wildest of beasts cower in fear. This is thanks in part to the engine that makes up the first two symbols on its chrome badge. The Aston Martin V8, hand assembled in Germany, delivers a modest 380hp and 302lb-ft of torque which is capable of propelling the unique-to-Aston Martin bonded aluminum Vertical Horizontal frame from 0-60 in 4.9 seconds.

With a base price of $126,000, this certainly isn’t the fastest nor the most powerful car you buy for the money, but spend time with it and you quickly realize that you would not want to be driving anything else. When you purchase a V8 Vantage Roadster you are not just buying a car, you are buying perfect balance. Perfect balance between performance and luxury, between aggressive styling and smooth lines, a car that is as beautiful with the top is up as it is down, whether it is standing still or powering down an endless road. But above all else, you are buying into the Aston Martin brand, a brand that lets people know you are as calm and cool as you are powerful and daring.

What do you get when a beautiful Czechoslovakian Olympic skier marries a rich real estate developer? Ivanka Trump, that’s what. Born in 1981, Ivanka has the best of both of her parents; the striking facial features and blond hair of her Eastern European mother, Ivana, and the deep, deep pockets of dear old dad and self-professed billionaire, Donald Trump. As a 16-year-old prep-school student, Ivanka only had her tuition paid for so she had to find other sources of income to keep her in the black. She became a model and has been on the cover of several magazines, including Seventeen, Elle, Glamour, and Stuff. Ivanka also strolled the catwalk for Versace, Marc Bouwer and Thierry Mugler, and appeared in ads for Tommy Hilfiger and Sassoon Jeans.

Her modeling years eventually ended as Ivanka finished her schooling. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics. Her intelligence and true-to-form Trump work ethic have helped her attain a position as vice president of real estate development and acquisitions at none other than the Trump organization. Ivanka has even appeared in the boardroom of her father’s reality television show The Apprentice. One can only assume that she will continue to climb the ladder at Trump Tower and have both her position and responsibilities grow as the organization grows. That is as long as she doesn’t mess up and her dad doesn’t fire her, of course.

Wealth at a price: Potential suitors should probably know three things: the value of a nickel, how to put in a good, smart day’s work, and where to get the best things that money can buy. Those attributes will likely please the smart, beautiful and business-savvy Ivanka and they may even get you past the unmerciful scrutiny of her father, The Donald. You can bet that he would have something to say if his daughter wanted to marry a record-store slacker.
